In all honesty I would have to charge such an exorbitant price for the given market volume that I would probally never sell any. In all honesty this is something I could do and build.
Problem is we are talking about a custom ic with custom connectors and custom programming for the processor. From there someone would need to figure out what each data point was and write code to output it to the nema format for the data they wanted. There are plently of programs that figure out the start and end of the data string as well as the deliniation. Your right the data is there in a long string but it would first need to read and converted. The jetboats use proprietary can bus data more akin to a car instead of nmea formated data to the best of my knowledge. That is a good idea but I am not sure that will work.
